Anna My Pham
Public Relations Student at Boston University | May 2021
"Everyone has a smile and story to share..."
This is my story.
I am a senior at Boston University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations with a double minor in Philosophy and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
I was born and raised in the beautiful city of San Jose, CA. After high school, I attended a community college in Iowa, while being cross enrolled at Iowa State University. Transferring was not my first pick, and neither was attending an out-of-state college in the midwest, which made me feel like a "fish out of water." Despite these challenges, this experience pushed me to overcome my greatest fears of failing, establishing a new community, and asking for help. It pushed me to be resilient, making me the person I am today.
At Boston University, I am involved in Student Government as the current COM Student Body President, the College Ambassador Program, as well as the Career Development Ambassador Program.
Even with these mental and physical challenges, you'll often catch me with a smile on my face because I believe there's always something to be thankful for.
Goals and Aspirations
Upon graduation in May 2021, I hope to earn a job at a large tech company in Silicon Valley conducting Public Relations. I am also interested in being an active citizen in my Local Government and volunteering with a Non-Profit Organization that assists the homeless population.
Ultimately, I plan to pursue a career that brings me happiness, pushes me to collaborate, and challenges me to step outside my comfort zone to learn something new every day.
The Journey to Today
"It wasn't easy, but nothing worth it ever is..."
My story became one of a community college student, cross-enrolled at Iowa State University and Des Moines Area Community College, to a proud Boston University Transfer student!
